Program Operations Specialist

 

Description:

I. Implement projects and programs for the Center as managed by the Director of Washington State Programs. These will include the Liberty Project, Business Technology Consulting Program, Tribal Gaming and Hospitality Management Program, Tribal Enterprise Financial Management Program
 

  • Execute day-to-day operations of the projects and programs for the Center.
  • Implement program directives and deliverables as provided by the Director of WA State Programs.
  • Work with faculty to schedule course presentations, seminars, and workshops.
  • Perform contract deliverables for the Liberty Project, including Task 5 of the City of Seattle contracts
  • Assist in the pre & post evaluation of the Center’s programs
     

II. Recruit students, volunteers, and small business participants for the programs
 

  • Recruit students to participate in the center programs
  • Recruit and manage volunteers to serve as mentors/advisors for student teams and as judges for the Center’s competitions
  • Secure sufficient small business and nonprofit participation in each program to ensure that we meet and exceed donor requirements and to ensure financial self-sufficiency for each program
  • Expand partnerships with Rotary Club of Seattle, HPE advisors, alumni, Advisory Board members and other key stakeholders to continue to improve the quality and grow the impact of the Center’s programs
     

III. Develop and administer program budgets

IV. Help coordinate fundraising activities for the Center
 

  • Assist the Director of Programs and Director of WA State Programs in fundraising and donor stewardship
  • Secure financial sponsors for programs and the Center’s Impact Awards
  • Produce reports for donors
  • Deliver presentations about the center and its programs to business owners, CEO, nonprofit executives, civic leaders and elected officials
     

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, education, economics, ethnic studies or similar or 5 years’ experience in a related field.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

Additional Requirements
 

  • The person hired for this position must have demonstrated experience working in multicultural communities and with individuals from racial and ethnic diverse backgrounds in a domestic US context.
  • They will have proven at least two years of experience in managing programs and projects and experience in marketing and promoting programs.
  • The candidate needs strong verbal and written skills and will have demonstrated ability to execute and manage a wide range of projects.
  • The candidate needs the ability to learn new skills and be proficient with MS office software.
  • This position also requires travel throughout Washington and limited travel outside of Washington which includes some overnight trips.
