The Manager, Programming will lead and provide statistical programming and analytic support for clinical studies. This role requires collaboration with Biostatistics, Clinical Operations, Data Management, Project Management, and external vendors. The position involves leadership, mentorship, and maintaining up-to-date expertise in programming and CDISC standards.
Represent the programming function in study team meetings and collaborate cross-functionally.
Stay current with SAS programming techniques and CDISC standards, driving process improvements for efficiency and compliance.
Develop complex SAS macros to reduce redundant programming tasks.
Motivate and mentor SAS programmers to meet project deliverables.
Lead studies and initiatives, managing resources to meet corporate goals.
Create specifications for data transformation according to SDTM IG and SAP.
Produce CDISC-compliant deliverables: SDTM & ADaM datasets, annotated CRFs (aCRF), define.xml, and reviewer guides (SDRG/ADRG).
Perform statistical analyses and generate analytic reports, tables, figures, and presentations to support clinical studies.
Engage in professional development to enhance skills, communication, scientific methods, and compliance.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
Master’s degree preferred.
5-7 years’ experience in pharmaceutical/biotech or related industry.
Advanced SAS programming skills and solid programming background.
Experience leading studies/projects is required.
Prior line management experience is a plus.
Expertise in CDISC standards (SDTM/ADaM/Define.xml) required.
Prior submission experience preferred.
Additional statistical software skills (R, S-Plus, WinBugs, etc.) are a plus.
Programming experience in VBA, C++, Python is helpful.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
