Project Controls Manager

Description:

Hanwha Qcells USA Corp (Qcells USA) specializes in utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS) project development, as well as Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services. The Project Controls Manager will oversee project controls, including scope, cost, and schedule management, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance across multiple projects. The position reports to the Vice-President of Construction or another senior management personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage procedures for project cost and schedule reporting.

• Review project schedules, budgets, cost estimates, scopes of work, and supplier quotes.

• Monitor multiple EPC projects simultaneously, managing risks and analyzing project costs and productivity.

• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on engineering progress, schedule, and budgets.

• Coordinate project meetings, supervise technical planning, and manage contract preparation.

• Report planning and technical design to department heads and clients.

• Assist with technical training, process improvement, and defining company processes and metrics.

• Promote a safety culture and ensure compliance with Qcells standards and quality management systems.

• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related Renewable Energy field.

• Minimum of 3 years EPC experience in renewable energy projects.

• At least 2 years in leadership or management roles with experience mentoring engineering teams.

• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

• Experience working internationally.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong ability to motivate and develop others.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

• Hybrid work arrangement with in-office attendance as required.

• Frequent stationary work (up to 8 hours/day), occasional walking, bending, standing, or climbing stairs.

• Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

• Travel up to 30% for project site visits.

• Professional office environment; construction site exposure with moderate-to-high noise levels.
