Description:
Actalent is seeking a Project Engineer to manage multiple construction projects across the DMV area, ensuring timely, compliant, and high-quality delivery. This position requires strong field management skills, leadership, and the ability to coordinate project activities effectively. The role will begin as a remote position for the first 3–6 months before transitioning into a hybrid setup once the new office opens in Frederick, Maryland.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all daily field operations, maintaining project schedules, ensuring safety compliance, and upholding quality standards. You will work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution and completion of construction projects within scope and budget.
Manage day-to-day field activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and project milestones.
Develop short-interval project schedules to anticipate and address upcoming needs.
Promote and maintain a culture of safety, health, and site cleanliness.
Coordinate work consistent with contract requirements and best-practice standards.
Establish and maintain dimensional controls with support from survey and layout personnel.
Ensure all work is installed professionally and meets quality standards.
Proactively identify and address potential issues before they impact project flow.
Administer quality control programs, safety, and environmental compliance initiatives.
Lead and attend project-related meetings, including pre-construction and progress meetings.
Communicate project updates and challenges to clients regularly.
Manage contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders while controlling costs and changes in scope.
Supervise punch list completion and project closeout documentation.
Prepare daily reports, timecards, and schedule updates for management review.
Mentor junior staff and promote ongoing learning and development among team members.
Proven experience in construction project management.
Proficiency in Procore and ability to manage RFIs and Submittals.
Strong communication and client relationship management skills.
Ability to multitask across several projects and maintain organizational efficiency.
Degree in engineering or a related field preferred (equivalent experience acceptable).
Must be technologically savvy and comfortable using modern project management tools.
Ability to travel to project sites across the DMV area (including the Pentagon).
This is a fully onsite position based in Purcellville, Virginia, managing multiple projects throughout the DMV area. The initial phase of employment (3–6 months) allows remote work, followed by a hybrid model once the new office is established.
Monthly Salary: USD 5,833 – 8,333
