Project Engineer

 

Description:

As a Project Engineer, you will serve as the Owner’s Engineer and technical lead for large-scale ($1B+) power generation projects across Entergy’s Texas service territory. Based in The Woodlands, TX, you'll play a key role in ensuring engineering and construction activities meet project requirements, safety standards, operational goals, and long-term reliability expectations.

In this role, you will provide technical oversight of EPC contractors, review engineering and construction deliverables, and collaborate with engineering, construction, commissioning, operations, and other stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and support successful project execution from design through startup. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Owner’s technical representative for a major power generation project, providing engineering oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering reviews and validate EPC engineering and construction deliverables for compliance with project requirements, industry standards, permits, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the evaluation and resolution of technical issues, RFIs, design changes, field challenges, and EPC change-order requests.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables incorporate safety, constructability, operability, maintainability, and long-term asset reliability considerations.
  • Coordinate technical alignment among engineering, construction, commissioning, operations, OEMs, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support project execution activities, including contractor selection, contract management, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and project documentation.
  • Partner with the Project Manager to ensure project delivery requirements are met and associated deliverables are completed.
  • Support commissioning, system turnover, equipment inspections, and performance, reliability, and emissions testing to ensure successful project startup and handoff.

 

Requirements

Minimum education required of the position.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
  • Advanced degree preferred.

Minimum Experience Required Of The Position.

  • Project Engineer Sr Staff: 12+ years of applicable and progressive professional experience.
