Description:
Vermont Oxford Network (VON), a globally recognized nonprofit collaborative of over 1,400 hospitals and organizations, is hiring a Project Manager to lead high-impact, cross-departmental initiatives—primarily in IT—aimed at improving the quality and safety of newborn care.
This full-time position can be performed remotely from anywhere in the U.S., with optional on-site work at the Burlington, VT office. The Project Manager will play a central role in managing project life cycles from planning through completion, collaborating closely with VON's Leadership Team, stakeholders, and external vendors.
Manage a portfolio of complex projects spanning operations, technology, and strategy.
Oversee all aspects of projects including planning, communication, budget, timelines, vendor management, risk mitigation, documentation, and resource allocation.
Collaborate with stakeholders and leadership to ensure alignment of project goals and priorities.
Create and present documentation such as progress reports, proposals, and presentations tailored to executive-level audiences.
Implement communication strategies to track and share updates efficiently across teams.
Escalate issues and manage roadblocks with minimal disruption to project flow.
Partner with the Project Management Framework Committee to refine and enforce best practices.
Lead continuous learning to stay current with evolving methodologies (Agile, Lean, Scrum, Kaizen).
Occasionally travel to the Burlington office for annual team collaboration (for remote employees).
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
At least 3 years of experience managing complex projects in a multi-departmental environment.
Strong grasp of project management methodologies and frameworks.
Demonstrated experience in IT project management and software development life cycles.
Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Lean, or Kaizen methodologies.
Proficiency in issue tracking and project management tools.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage both internal and external stakeholders.
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to resolve conflicts constructively.
PMP certification is a plus.
Background in healthcare or nonprofit settings is preferred.
Remote or onsite in Burlington, VT.
40-hour work week (typical hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET).
Sedentary work with frequent use of video conferencing and digital tools.
Remote employees are expected to travel once a year to VON’s headquarters for team engagement.
