Description:
Vastika Inc is seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Automation Engineer with a strong background in embedded systems testing and automation scripting, particularly using Python or similar scripting languages. This role is integral to validating embedded video and camera systems to ensure high performance, robustness, and reliability in real-time embedded environments.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining test automation frameworks, executing embedded system validations, analyzing performance data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including software, firmware, and hardware engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement automated test scripts for embedded video and camera systems.
Conduct functional, regression, and performance testing on embedded hardware running imaging and video processing firmware/software.
Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and embedded software teams to verify video system functionality and tuning.
Debug system logs, identify failures, and resolve integration issues between hardware and software.
Maintain and enhance embedded test frameworks and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
Document all test procedures, results, and maintain traceability to embedded system requirements.
Required Skills:
3+ years of experience in QA Automation or Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) roles focused on embedded systems.
Expertise in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or equivalent for embedded test automation.
Familiarity with testing frameworks like Pytest, Robot Framework, or custom embedded QA tools.
Strong knowledge of video processing, camera validation, and image quality tuning in embedded environments.
Hands-on experience with embedded operating systems (RTOS preferred) and SoC-based platforms.
Skilled in debugging and interpreting system logs for video/camera subsystems.
Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and on-device testing setups.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with machine vision, computer vision, or embedded ISP pipelines.
Understanding of video codecs, latency tuning, resolution scaling, and embedded performance tools.
Previous experience working with automotive cameras, smartphone embedded systems, security video systems, or similar domains.
