Description:
The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC) is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance Coordinator to join their Performance Improvement Department in Bethel, Alaska. YKHC serves over 30,000 people across remote areas in rural southwest Alaska, where access to quality healthcare is crucial. The Quality Assurance Coordinator will play a pivotal role in enhancing clinical and operational performance across the organization by leading quality initiatives, analyzing performance data, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing essential training.
In this role, the Quality Assurance Coordinator is expected to manage and interpret production and clinical data across departments, track performance trends, identify areas of improvement, and collaborate with various teams to implement actionable solutions. A critical responsibility of this position includes overseeing all aspects of Meaningful Use compliance (CMS Incentive Program) and maintaining timely and accurate reporting to ensure regulatory standards are met.
This position will also support leadership by preparing high-quality analytical reports and will act as a mentor and trainer for staff members on reporting systems and basic data analysis techniques.
Monitor trends across departments (e.g., ER, inpatient) and initiate data-driven improvements
Serve as the organization's primary resource for interpreting analytic tools and performance metrics
Develop and deliver training for staff on using reporting functions and interpreting results
Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with CMS Meaningful Use requirements
Lead all related projects, from planning to successful execution, across clinical and IT teams
Utilize tools like Crystal Reports or Business Objects for performance reporting
Collaborate with leadership to address root cause analysis and long-term solutions
Prepare detailed reports for senior leadership as needed
Stay updated on federal healthcare reporting requirements and adjust internal processes accordingly
Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in statistics, sciences, or a related field
Experience: Minimum of 3 years (5 years preferred) in healthcare quality assurance or database management
Skills:
Proficiency in data reporting tools (Crystal Reports, Business Objects, etc.)
Ability to analyze data, communicate findings, and suggest corrective actions
Strong project management, presentation, and communication skills
Capability to teach data tools to diverse groups with varying levels of technical knowledge
License/Certification: Not required
