Deutsche Bank is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantitative Trading Lead Engineer (Vice President) to join its Quantitative Fixed Income Engineering team in New York. This senior-level role focuses on partnering closely with Quant Trading teams to deliver innovative and high-performance pricing and trading solutions specifically for the Rates and Credit Businesses.

As part of a globally integrated team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in engineering sophisticated e-trading platforms and algorithms, while working within a dynamic hybrid work environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine technical leadership with strategic collaboration across quantitative, trading, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end development of new trading features and enhancements across the entire trading stack.

  • Optimize and maintain low-latency, high-throughput trading systems by identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.

  • Drive robust code quality through thorough peer code reviews and best engineering practices.

  • Work closely with quant traders and desk quants to ensure seamless delivery of trading strategies and related tools.

  • Collaborate with platform engineering teams to leverage and improve core infrastructure solutions.

Leadership Expectations:

  • Develop deep relationships with trading desks to enable agile response to evolving business needs.

  • Mentor team members and contribute to a high-performing culture of innovation and precision.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong programming expertise in Java.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing high-performance and low-latency trading applications.

  • Solid experience with e-trading system development.

  • Familiarity with Python3 and KDB is highly beneficial.

  • Understanding of modern software delivery practices (CI/CD, testing frameworks, deployment automation).

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, technical systems into production environments.

  • A technical degree in computer engineering, software development, or a related field is strongly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary: $150000 – $230000 annually.
