Description:

Elevate Flexible Legal Resourcing, in partnership with a large growth-focused utility company, is seeking an experienced Real Estate Attorney to join its in-house legal team. This permanent, high-impact role will play a key part in supporting land acquisition, entitlement, and development efforts for critical utility and infrastructure projects in Texas.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal counsel on real estate transactions such as acquisitions, easements, permitting, and land use. They will be responsible for drafting and negotiating legal agreements including purchase and sale contracts, development agreements, leases, and easement documentation. The role requires conducting due diligence on title, zoning, environmental assessments, and land entitlements. Additionally, the attorney will coordinate with internal stakeholders, outside counsel, title companies, and government authorities to support infrastructure development.

The Real Estate Attorney will also play a key role in interpreting and advising on laws, regulations, and local ordinances affecting land development and real estate assets. They will support strategic land planning initiatives while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel on real estate transactions including acquisitions, easements, permitting, and land use.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts such as purchase and sale agreements, leases, development agreements, and easement documentation.

  • Conduct due diligence including title, zoning, environmental assessments, and entitlement reviews.

  • Collaborate with internal departments, external counsel, title companies, and local authorities.

  • Interpret and provide guidance on applicable laws and regulations.

  • Support business teams in strategic land planning and infrastructure development.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

  • Active license to practice law in Texas.

  • At least 5 years of experience in real estate law, ideally with exposure to utility, infrastructure, or development projects.

  • Strong knowledge of Texas real estate law, land use regulations, permitting, and title matters.

  • Proven ability to handle complex transactions with multiple stakeholders.

  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.

  • Business-oriented mindset with sound legal judgment.
