Description:
The U.S. Army Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) is seeking a skilled Recreational Equipment Operator (NA-08) to support operations at the West Point Parks and Picnic Areas. This is a full-time, on-site position designed for a hands-on professional with experience in recreational facility maintenance and equipment operation.
The individual will be responsible for operating and maintaining a diverse array of heavy and light machinery including snowplows, snowmobiles, ATVs, mowing machines, and utility tractors. Duties include snow and grass maintenance, facility winterization, restoration, and general repairs using power tools and mechanical equipment. The position involves both indoor and outdoor work across all seasons, including exposure to extreme weather and physical labor.
Responsibilities include:
Operating and maintaining complex recreational and maintenance equipment
Performing mechanical and facility repairs
Conducting seasonal de-winterization and restoration work
Supporting event setup and equipment rentals
Participating in ongoing maintenance and repair of grounds, small buildings, and park facilities
This role requires strong technical troubleshooting ability, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to supporting recreational services for military communities. Work hours may include weekends, holidays, and nights, and the position is subject to random drug testing.
