Regional Controller

Description:

StevenDouglas has been exclusively engaged to recruit for a newly created Regional Controller position in Texas. This is a senior-level finance role that plays a vital part in the leadership of the organization. The selected candidate will act as a strategic business partner to Regional and District General Managers, assuming joint ownership of the P&L, balance sheet, and cash generation across their assigned region or district.

This position requires a strong financial leader who can combine technical accounting and financial expertise with strategic business acumen. The role involves close collaboration with senior executives, providing financial insights and decision support to drive profitability, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with Regional and District General Managers to provide financial leadership, ensuring accountability for financial performance.

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the P&L, balance sheet, and cash generation activities within the assigned region.

• Develop and maintain advanced financial and decision-support models to inform strategic decisions and improve financial outcomes.

• Deliver accurate, insightful, and timely financial reporting and analysis to executive leadership teams.

• Provide leadership and guidance in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.

• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations.

• Act as a key contributor to business planning and growth initiatives, particularly in project or service-driven industries.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a highly analytical field required.

• Minimum of 5–10 years of relevant professional experience, with progressive responsibilities in financial leadership roles.

• Expertise in percentage of completion accounting is required.

• High proficiency in developing financial models and decision-support tools.

• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial analysis clearly to executive leaders.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

• Experience in service or project industries (e.g., construction) is considered a strong plus.
