Registered Dietitian

Description:

Dietitians On Demand is seeking a Registered Dietitian for an exciting temporary acute care assignment at a 150-bed hospital in Steubenville, Ohio. This role offers the opportunity to work weekdays only, making it an excellent fit for dietitians seeking a stable schedule and improved work-life balance. The contract runs for 3 months with immediate start, and mileage reimbursement is available depending on location. Both entry-level and experienced RDs are encouraged to apply.

As part of this role, the Registered Dietitian will focus on clinical duties only, working with patients at nutritional risk to develop individualized care plans and provide evidence-based nutritional interventions. You will collaborate closely with healthcare teams, document care effectively, and ensure diet prescriptions align with patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients at nutritional risk in accordance with facility policies.

• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans based on assessments and evidence-based standards.

• Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients, families, and groups.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during rounds and care meetings.

• Ensure thorough documentation using the Nutrition Care Process, PES statements, and electronic charting systems.

• Work cooperatively with food service staff to align with prescribed diets.

• Maintain confidentiality and accountability in handling patient health information.

• Perform work independently with minimal training or supervision.

Required Licenses & Certifications:

• Current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

• Ohio state dietitian license (must be obtained before starting).

Additional Information:

• Contract duration: 3 months, with potential for extension.

• Schedule: Weekdays only (Day shifts, Monday – Friday).

• Hours: 28–32 hours per week.

• Pre-hire screening includes: phone screen, background check, drug screen, reference and credential verification, clinical competency assessment, tuberculosis screening, immunization titers, and fingerprinting (as needed).
