Mercy Health – Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) – Obstetrics (OB) to join their compassionate and patient-focused team. As an Obstetrics RN, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional, family-centered care to women during pregnancy, labor, delivery, postpartum, and other women’s health needs, as well as caring for newborns until discharge. This role requires strong clinical expertise, prioritization skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered nursing care for women, newborns, and families in both outpatient and inpatient obstetric settings.

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with diverse gestational ages, diagnoses, and complications.

• Deliver emergency interventions such as stabilization, resuscitation, and emergency management when required.

• Administer medications safely in compliance with state and organizational standards.

• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Apply advanced obstetrics and women’s health knowledge to triage, prioritization, patient education, and comprehensive care delivery.

Education & Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

• Active RN licensure in the state of Kentucky.

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required (preferred upon hire, must be obtained before direct patient care).

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) acceptable in lieu of BLS.

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required within 3 months of hire (preferred at time of hire).

• Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification (NCC) preferred if interpreting fetal monitoring.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Minimum 1 year of professional RN experience required.

• Recent OB, Emergency Department, or Critical Care nursing experience preferred.

• Familiarity with EPIC Electronic Health Records (preferred, not required).
