Description:
Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse – Specialty II for the Operating Room (OR) on a full-time, daytime shift basis. This role comes with a $20,000 sign-on bonus and is ideal for a nurse passionate about providing exceptional perioperative care while working in a collaborative and innovative healthcare environment.
As part of one of the nation’s most respected and award-winning healthcare systems, you will provide direct patient care in a specialty surgical setting, ensuring optimal outcomes through advanced clinical practices, patient education, and collaborative care planning.
Deliver direct patient care in the operating room following established standards, policies, and procedures.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, referrals, and psychosocial or spiritual support as needed.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care to optimize patient outcomes and efficiently utilize resources.
Document and communicate patient conditions accurately and promptly.
Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and post-operative expectations according to their age, cultural needs, and health conditions.
Delegate patient care tasks effectively to ancillary personnel.
Precept student nurses and mentor newly hired staff as assigned.
Education: Accredited Nursing Program graduate.
License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Florida.
Certifications:
BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for ICU, ED, PACU, Tele, OB, MHN Pre-Op, and Specialty Procedural areas
PALS – Required for pediatric areas (except NICU; to be obtained within 30 days of hire if applicable)
NRP – Required for NICU nurses (to be obtained within 30 days if coming from non-NICU background)
Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certificate (for RNs administering chemotherapy)
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing situations
Commitment to patient- and family-centered care
Knowledge of disease processes and ability to implement appropriate care plans
High exposure to biological and hazardous materials (80%)
Frequent lifting/carrying of patients (35 lbs or greater – 80%)
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and stooping (80%)
Exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous chemicals, and sharp objects (80%)
