The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for overseeing nursing personnel, administering medication, and ensuring the overall physical and psychiatric well-being of adolescent patients.
As part of the team, the RN will work with physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. The role involves supervising nursing staff, taking and implementing physician orders, and monitoring the physical and mental conditions of adolescent patients. The RN will also handle seclusion and restraint in emergencies, provide medication education, and ensure proper documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and monitor nursing personnel on the assigned shift.
Collaborate with physicians and social workers to secure informed consent for medications and medical procedures.
Take and implement physician orders for medication, seclusion, restraint, and medical procedures.
Observe and document changes in adolescents' physical and psychiatric conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and ensure medication supply.
Attend Treatment Team meetings and provide input on patient care.
Take vital signs as ordered and ensure ongoing assessment.
Implement emergency seclusion and restraint as needed and ensure proper follow-up.
Provide medication education and health practice information to clients.

Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing required.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
One (1) year of experience with SED children or 40 hours of on-the-job training.
One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
Valid California RN License required.
