Description:
OHSU is Oregon’s specialty referral center serving a large multi-state region including Oregon, Southwest Washington, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, and Northern California. Known for high acuity and complex cases, OHSU’s specialty areas include oncology, bone marrow transplant, cardiac care, solid organ transplant, trauma, and neurosurgery. Acute care and intermediate care patients are cared for in these specialized units.
The RN Float Pool position requires a flexible nurse able to provide acute care nursing across various specialty areas, floating as needed between units. Candidates will use their clinical nursing expertise to deliver safe, high-quality care and will be supported with comprehensive orientation and ongoing learning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide nursing care across multiple acute care specialty units based on patient needs
Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver patient-centered care
Adhere to professional nursing standards, ethics, and OHSU policies
Participate in a culture of safety, teamwork, innovation, and lifelong learning
Maintain compliance with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards
Required Qualifications:
At least 1 year of current nursing experience in adult acute care, intermediate care, or emergency department observation
BSN from an accredited nursing program or ADN with enrollment in BSN program within 3 years of hire (to be completed within 5 years)
Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association, valid at hire and during orientation
Ability to perform job duties with or without accommodation
