Carilion Clinic is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join the team at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. This role offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, and additional pay incentives for night shifts. The RRT will deliver high-quality therapeutic, diagnostic, and life-support respiratory care procedures across general, intensive care, and home care settings. The role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, participating in care planning, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes for individuals of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.

• Deliver therapeutic and life-support respiratory procedures in various care settings.

• Collaborate with healthcare team members, patients, and families to develop and evaluate interdisciplinary plans of care.

• Manage resources, prioritize tasks, and adapt care delivery to patient needs.

• Participate in unit, hospital, or organization-level activities to influence decision-making.

• Act as a clinical role model and mentor for coworkers, students, and physicians.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree or certification from a CoARC-approved Respiratory Therapy program (Bachelor’s preferred).

• Licensed as a respiratory care practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine.

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care.

• BLS certification (within 3 months of employment); ACLS, NRP, or PALS may be required within one year.

• Active membership in a professional organization (AARC) preferred.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills essential.
