Description:
EY is seeking a highly motivated Manager for Risk & Regulatory Compliance within the Power & Utilities sector. This role involves leading and managing consulting projects focused on regulatory compliance, developing tailored compliance strategies and programs, conducting regulatory risk assessments, and delivering actionable recommendations. The Manager will stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and ensure clients are compliant while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive solutions. The role also involves mentoring junior consultants, maintaining strong client relationships, and contributing to business development through proposal writing and presentations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage consulting projects on regulatory compliance for power utilities.
Develop and implement compliance strategies tailored to client needs.
Conduct regulatory risk assessments and provide actionable recommendations.
Stay abreast of regulatory changes and inform clients accordingly.
Mentor and develop junior consultants.
Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Contribute to business development initiatives, including proposals and client presentations.
Evaluate regulatory accounting treatment applied by clients.
Review flowcharts, identify systems/data points, and assess risks and controls.
Assess large data sets to support compliance filings.
Communicate regulations, considerations, and conclusions clearly to stakeholders.
Perform internal control testing, develop audit plans, and provide regulatory compliance services.
Apply industry knowledge to identify technological developments affecting clients.
Demonstrate excellent project management, teamwork, and leadership.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (ideally in business, accounting, finance, or related discipline).
CPA certification.
Minimum 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance within power utilities.
Proven track record in managing consulting projects and delivering results.
Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
Technical skills related to accounting, external auditing, or forensic accounting.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
Ability to travel and work extended hours as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced understanding of financial, operational, and compliance risks.
Ability to apply business/industry knowledge to emerging technologies.
