Description:

BMO U.S. is seeking a Business Banking Relationship Manager to cultivate, manage, and grow relationships with a portfolio of small business clients. This role focuses on driving business growth, increasing market share, and delivering exceptional banking solutions tailored to meet client needs. The Relationship Manager will proactively develop sales strategies, foster long-term relationships, and provide expert financial guidance while adhering to the bank’s policies and regulatory standards.

This position plays a pivotal role in identifying opportunities, cross-selling additional banking products and services, and maintaining strong community and client relationships. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong financial analysis skills, consultative sales expertise, and an ability to navigate complex business banking needs with confidence and professionalism.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with small business clients to grow BMO’s market presence.

  • Proactively develop and execute sales strategies to attract new clients and expand existing portfolios.

  • Conduct financial analysis to assess creditworthiness and provide tailored banking solutions.

  • Develop, maintain, and execute relationship management strategies for customer retention.

  • Identify cross-selling opportunities for additional products and services.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure compliance with banking policies and regulations.

  • Monitor and track portfolio performance; analyze data to provide insights and recommendations.

  • Manage risk by following due diligence and safeguarding procedures against fraud, money laundering, or loss.

  • Engage in change management initiatives and contribute to operational program improvements.


Candidate Requirements:

  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in business banking, sales, or financial services.

  • Post-secondary degree in related field preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of business banking products, lending processes, and loan documentation.

  • Proficiency in financial analysis, credit assessment, and risk management.

  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work independently on complex tasks and deliver results.
