Description:
Irish Arts Center (IAC), a vibrant hub for Irish and Irish-American arts and culture in New York City, is seeking a Research and Membership Intern to join its growing development team. This hybrid position is a perfect opportunity for someone passionate about the arts and interested in building hands-on experience in fundraising, prospect research, membership engagement, and non-profit development operations.
As part of IAC’s strategic development and fundraising efforts, the intern will contribute directly to maintaining and expanding a robust network of supporters. The role offers exposure to a dynamic and fast-paced cultural organization recently expanded into a $60 million landmark facility.
Responsibilities:
🟢 Research and Prospecting
Conduct donor research and create prospect profiles.
Prepare wealth screening reports and support team portfolio tracking.
Research event attendees and high-level patrons.
Assist with strategic communications and documentation.
🟢 Membership
Assist in planning and executing member events.
Develop monthly newsletters highlighting events and member benefits.
Fulfill membership perks (e.g., branded tote bags and blankets).
Support in identifying and cultivating prospects for upper-tier memberships.
🟢 Special Events
Provide logistical support during fundraising and donor events.
Assist with guest check-ins, auctions, RSVP tracking, and communication.
Organize materials and supplies needed for events.
Requirements:
Prior administrative experience in development or non-profit settings.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Willingness to learn software such as Tessitura and iWave.
Excellent writing, research, and editing skills.
High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Energetic, self-motivated, and enthusiastic about community engagement.
Based in NYC or surrounding areas with availability for hybrid work and occasional evening/weekend events.
Working Schedule:
20 hours per week.
Hybrid work model with one mandatory in-office day.
Availability during standard business hours (M–F, 10AM–6PM) and select nights/weekends.
Compensation and Perks:
$16.50/hour
Free entry to all regularly ticketed IAC events during the internship.
Free registration for one IAC class (redeemable within a year after internship).

Training on industry-standard tools such as Tessitura and iWave.
