Mochi Health, a rapidly growing biotech company, is seeking a motivated and highly effective Research Associate to join their team in San Carlos, CA. This role is ideal for recent STEM or biology graduates with exceptional academic performance (GPA ≥ 3.5) and a strong work ethic. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory experiments, managing assays, recording results in Benchling, summarizing scientific papers, and supporting business development efforts. The role requires hands-on work with mammalian cell expression, sterile pharmaceutical quality control, and biologics characterization using reporter cell lines. Additional responsibilities include contributing to operational success as needed, making this an ideal position for ambitious candidates eager to learn and grow within a high-performance team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory experiments under the supervision of a research scientist.

• Conduct expression of biologics in mammalian cells and ensure quality control of sterile compounded pharmaceuticals.

• Characterize biologics using reporter cell lines and related assays.

• Record and maintain experimental methods and data in Benchling.

• Read, analyze, and summarize scientific literature.

• Assist with business development initiatives and other company objectives.

Requirements:

• BS in STEM or biology field (GPA ≥ 3.5).

• Python scripting ability and proficiency in Google Sheets/Slides.

• Strong work ethic, ambition, and attention to detail.

• Ability to commute within 30 minutes of San Carlos, CA.

• Knowledge of aseptic techniques, cell culturing, or working in a biosafety cabinet is required.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with reporter cell assays, USP guidelines, HPLC, plate readers, or qPCR.
