Retail Service Specialist

 

Description:

O’Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Retail Service Specialist to support its retail operations in Phoenix, Arizona. This full-time, on-site position plays a crucial role in driving customer satisfaction, supporting store operations, and stepping into a leadership role when the Store Manager or Assistant Manager is unavailable.

This position is ideal for individuals with strong interpersonal skills, retail experience, and an interest in automotive systems and customer service excellence. Bilingual candidates (especially Spanish-speaking) are highly encouraged to apply.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support store team members in delivering excellent customer service to retail and professional clientele

  • Supervise retail floor operations, ensuring execution of company customer service programs such as Hi5, Rock the Call, and Rock the Lot

  • Answer phone inquiries in line with O’Reilly policy and handle online/ship-to-store and special order processes efficiently

  • Ensure customer returns and exchanges are processed accurately and refunds issued appropriately

  • Monitor sales invoicing, including handling of core charges and warranties before merchandise leaves the store

  • Execute all opening and closing procedures, including securing the building, cash handling, and alarm system activation

  • Delegate merchandising tasks using company tools such as Zipline and Image Maker

  • Monitor and enforce timekeeping, scheduling, and attendance policies among store associates

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and customer-friendly store appearance

  • Perform any additional duties assigned by management


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to obtain RSS Certification (Retail Service Specialist Certification)

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Willingness to take ownership and initiative in store operations


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior retail sales experience, preferably in the automotive parts sector

  • Working knowledge of automotive systems and repairs

  • ASE Certification (Automotive Service Excellence) is a plus

  • Fluency in Spanish or other languages is highly desirable
