Columbia Sportswear Company, a global leader in active lifestyle apparel and gear, is seeking a Retail Supervisor to join their store leadership team at their Central Valley, NY location. As a Retail Supervisor, you will serve as a key member of the store leadership team and be responsible for leading associate-level staff, driving sales performance, and ensuring store compliance with corporate policies. This position requires strong leadership skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to adapt to dynamic retail conditions while maintaining high operational standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily store operations and lead a team of associate-level staff.

  • Provide ongoing coaching and training to ensure staff successfully carry out tasks such as sales transactions, shipment processing, floor recovery, and customer engagement.

  • Monitor and manage cash register accuracy, customer transactions, and solicit participation in loyalty programs and surveys.

  • Take ownership of a specific department within the store, communicate challenges to leadership, and contribute to action plans for resolution.

  • Collaborate with store management to ensure compliance with operational procedures and company policies.

  • Lead by example, maintaining a professional demeanor and fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence aligned with Columbia Sportswear Company values.


Required Qualifications:

  • No formal education required (High School Diploma or GED preferred)

  • 2–5 years of experience in retail or a related supervisory role

  • Proficiency in using Point of Sale (POS) systems and other retail inventory tools

  • Strong problem-solving and judgment skills for day-to-day operational challenges

  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to engage customers and communicate effectively with team members


Job Conditions:

  • Must be able to work in an active and physical retail environment, frequently lifting up to 40 lbs.

  • Exposure to dust and noise is common.

  • Must be available for a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, aligned with seasonal and store-specific business trends.

  • Requires clear communication and the ability to move constantly throughout the store.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly Pay Range: $19.80 – $28.51

  • Expected Starting Range: $19.80 – $25.61

  • Salary decisions depend on experience, skill level, market rates, and internal equity considerations.
