The Emergency Department – Multifunctional Risk Sitter Technician plays an integral role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients by assisting nursing teams and supporting hospital operations under the direct supervision of licensed nurses.
This position provides essential clinical and technical support within a fast-paced emergency environment, maintaining safety protocols and ensuring quality patient care.
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, assisting in daily activities and observing patient safety and comfort.
Perform assigned clinical tasks as outlined by departmental competency standards.
Support nursing and hospital objectives by adhering to established procedures, safety protocols, and quality assurance guidelines.
Accurately document patient care activities and observations.
Maintain current professional knowledge, skills, and required certifications.
Exhibit sensitivity and respect toward patient privacy and communication preferences, adapting care to each individual’s needs.
Collaborate effectively with the nursing team and respond promptly to patient care needs or safety concerns.
Perform additional related duties as assigned by the supervising nurse or department head.
Remain compliant with federal, state, and hospital regulations to ensure patient and workplace safety.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required upon hire.
Previous hospital or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Proficiency in computer systems, medical software, and web-based applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for professional interactions with patients and staff.
Excellent interpersonal abilities and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain composure in emergency situations.
Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Medium Work: Must be able to exert 20–50 lbs occasionally, 10–25 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly.
Frequent walking or standing required; some bending and lifting involved.
Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious materials—strict adherence to safety protocols required.
May work in environments involving hazardous materials, medications, or waste; compliance with safety and PPE standards is essential.
