Rotating Equipment Supervisor

Vacuum Solutions, a division of Atlas Copco, is seeking an experienced and passionate Rotating Equipment Supervisor for its Houston, TX repair facility. This on-site role involves leading a skilled team of technicians in the maintenance and repair of high-speed rotating equipment, primarily centrifugal compressors. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, has a strong engineering background, and brings over a decade of hands-on turbomachinery experience combined with excellent supervisory capabilities.

The supervisor will oversee day-to-day operations at the repair facility, ensuring quality standards, delivery deadlines, and customer satisfaction are consistently met. This position demands leadership, technical knowledge, scheduling proficiency, and the ability to foster a high-performing team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of repair technicians in conducting complex turbomachinery repairs using established techniques and industry best practices.

• Manage facility workflow and coordinate scheduled workloads to meet customer requirements and internal deadlines.

• Collaborate closely with the Service Center Operations Manager to align operational strategies and improve performance.

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as utilization, efficiency, and turnaround times.

• Handle the dispositioning of compressor parts during inspections—determining which parts to reuse, repair, or replace.

• Maintain detailed repair documentation and workshop traveler records to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Provide internal training and coordinate the upskilling of personnel to meet performance expectations.

• Champion continuous improvement efforts and contribute to positioning Atlas Copco as a leader in rotating equipment services.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience with high-speed rotating equipment such as compressors, turbines, or similar machinery.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

• Strong leadership and team management abilities.

• Proven experience in managing repair shop workflows and achieving performance goals.

• Excellent communication skills for both internal collaboration and customer interaction.

• Attention to detail in documentation and repair processes.

Salary and Benefits:
