Description:
McGregor Boyall is seeking a C++/Rust HFT Engineer to join a high-caliber quantitative trading team based in New York, NY, operating on a flexible hybrid schedule. This position is ideal for system-level engineers who thrive in ultra-low latency environments and are passionate about building reliable, high-speed infrastructure for live trading applications.
The selected candidate will work closely with quantitative analysts to develop, deploy, and fine-tune automated trading strategies, emphasizing performance tuning, real-time market connectivity, and system integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and build high-performance, low-latency trading systems using C++17/20 and/or Rust
Collaborate directly with quantitative analysts to implement and refine algorithmic strategies
Optimize the software, hardware, and networking stack for minimal latency and maximal throughput
Develop and manage real-time data feed handlers and exchange connectivity components
Monitor and ensure system uptime, integrity, and operational resilience in production environments
Required Skills & Qualifications:
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in high-performance systems programming
Strong command of modern C++ (17/20) and/or Rust
Deep understanding of operating system internals, concurrency, multithreading, and network programming
Prior experience with performance profiling, low-latency system design, and system optimization
Background in building trading systems, preferably with close collaboration with Quants or Portfolio Managers
