Duties

• You will perform Occupational Safety and Health Program oversight functions to ensure effective and efficient implementation of Occupational Safety and Health standards and regulations.
• You will identify the need for, and assist in the procurement and maintenance of equipment needed to support Occupational Safety and Health monitoring of work sites.
• You will make surveillances of any industrial work performed in the shipyard by employees, contractors, or other support agencies.
• You will coordinate performance of required inspections, checkpoints, or audits to meet regulatory requirements and ensure that work can be safely executed in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards and regulations.
• You will conduct mishap investigations in accordance with Navy mishap investigation and reporting procedures.
• You will direct immediate corrective action in an emergency situation to control personnel exposure to a hazard, until relieved by senior personnel.
