Description:
MasTec Renewables Group, a division of MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure, is actively seeking Safety Managers (I, II, and III) to join its team across various renewable energy project sites throughout the U.S. These roles are designed for individuals with a passion for workplace safety and a commitment to upholding environmental, health, and safety standards in fast-paced, large-scale construction environments.
As a Safety Manager, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing comprehensive safety programs at construction project sites to ensure compliance with federal, state, and corporate EHS regulations. Your primary mission is to create and maintain a safe working environment by identifying potential hazards, providing direction to mitigate risks, and fostering a strong culture of safety among both management and craft workers.
This is a 100% travel-based role, requiring flexibility to relocate to job sites anywhere in the U.S. for projects that typically last 8–12 months. Lead all aspects of the jobsite safety program across complex construction projects
Conduct safety inspections and initiate stop work when necessary
Provide expert guidance to resolve safety infractions and prevent future incidents
Promote a culture of safety through leadership, mentoring, and committee involvement
Organize and participate in safety meetings, trainings, audits, and emergency response planning
Administer jobsite drug and alcohol testing and maintain emergency response readiness
Track and present leading safety indicators and maintain compliance documentation
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and implement environmental program requirements
Serve as a liaison between the company and client safety management
Deliver safety training on key topics including fall protection, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and more
For Safety Manager I:
2–3 years of construction safety experience
Demonstrated leadership in safety performance
For Safety Manager II:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
3–5 years of experience
CHST preferred or must obtain within 1 year
For Safety Manager III:
5+ years of experience
CHST or higher BSCP certification within 6 months
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Strong understanding of OSHA/MSHA standards and safety management principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety documentation/report writing
Excellent communication and leadership skills
CPR/First Aid Instructor certification and training experience preferred
Willingness to pursue or maintain professional safety certifications (e.g., CHST, CMSP)
Ability to perform site inspections and testing with attention to detail
Regular exposure to outdoor weather, high places, machinery, noise, and vibration
Frequently required to move around project sites and travel extensively
