Safety Manager

 

Description:

MasterBrand, the #1 North American residential cabinet manufacturer, is seeking a Production Team Lead to oversee and support daily operations on the assembly line. This role ensures production goals are met safely and efficiently while maintaining quality standards and promoting teamwork. The Production Team Lead will assist the supervisor, coach team members, and help maintain a high-performing work environment driven by continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily activities of team members within the department

  • Update performance boards hourly

  • Conduct morning stretch & flex and deliver production updates

  • Follow up on safety incidents or near-miss events

  • Attend scheduled production meetings

  • Participate in daily Out-of-Box Audits

  • Develop deep product knowledge for all components within the department

  • Operate machines and hand tools as needed

  • Monitor “hot” cabinet items and update the Hot List

  • Prepare department setup for next-day production

  • Coach employees on policies and procedures

  • Cover supervisor duties in their absence

  • Fill in on the line where needed

  • Maintain excellent attendance

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing preferred

  • Excellent communication skills with diverse teams

  • Strong ability to prioritize and drive production results

  • Flexible, adaptable, and proactive ("bias for action")

  • Excellent attendance; ability to work flexible schedules

  • Willingness to participate in leadership training

  • Strong safety focus; capable of completing safety audits

  • Ability to listen actively and professionally

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

Additional Requirements / Notes

  • Must be able to work on-site at the Kinston, NC facility
