Description:
The Commercial Sales Assistant role is responsible for assisting Commercial Relationship Managers and Market Presidents with their client relationships for Midland States Bank. Activities will predominantly be associated with opening and renewing commercial loans along with any necessary reporting and maintenance. This role will also function as an advocate for the clients inside the bank. It is expected that the Commercial Sales Assistant role will embrace Midland States Bank’s vision and values, and represent those both internally and in the community in which they serve.
Primary Accountabilities
- Preparation of loan files for various commercial loans.
- Order title insurance, flood letters, property inspections, UCC searches, Certificates of Good Standing, Environmental Documents and any other necessary items for a loan closing.
- Review thoroughly and understand formation documents for various entities including corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and trusts.
- May coordinate loan closings with loan officers, law firms, and title companies.
- May input business purpose loan requests into Credit Quest and attach all required documentation in the appropriate underwriting system.
- Reviews executed documents upon return for completion prior to sending the documents for funding.
- Ensures all documents necessary to perfect the banks security interest in collateral are provided as part of the closing process.
- Provides customer service to existing commercial customers, including research or referrals to other Departments of the Bank where applicable and corresponding follow up.
- Oversees the management of the tickler system, various loan reporting.
- Process invoices and monitor fees.
- Responsible for the validation that loan/credit file is compliant with Reg B, Flood, CIP/BSA, all other federal, state regulations and Bank policies.
- Assist in portfolio quality and maintenance initiatives.
- The role requires occasional travel for training and team meetings, and willingness to travel periodically, to locations within market as needed.
- May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited two year college or two (2) years of practical experience in banking or a closely related field.
- Strong and well developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
