Due to continued growth, we are now looking to hire a Sales Business Development Representative critical role at the top of the sales funnel, driving new opportunity creation and supporting pipeline growth. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious early-career commercial professional who is motivated by relationship building, enjoys a mix of inside sales and field engagement, and is looking to progress into a full-cycle commercial role within a high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Prospecting
- Identify and research target accounts across biotech, pharma, and wider life sciences organisations
- Conduct outbound prospecting via email, phone, LinkedIn, and professional networks
- Generate new leads through campaigns, referrals, and market insights
- Maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities
Qualification & Sales Support
- Act as the first point of contact for inbound enquiries
- Run discovery conversations to understand customer needs, timelines, and fit
- Qualify leads and schedule meetings for Account Executives
- Accurately track activity and opportunities within the CRM system
- Support early-stage deal nurturing and progression
Events & Field Marketing
- Represent the organisation at conferences, trade shows, and networking events
- Conduct in-person outreach and manage post-event follow-ups
- Support booth presence, demonstrations, and customer engagement
- Partner closely with Marketing on event strategy and execution
- Travel approximately 15–20% for industry events and client meetings
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams
- Share market feedback and customer insights
- Contribute to campaign development and messaging improvements
Candidate Profile
Essential
- 1–3 years’ experience in sales, business development, sales development, inside sales or similar
- Proven ability to generate and qualify leads within the life science market
- Exposure to life sciences, biotech, pharma, laboratory services, or scientific tools
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Comfortable representing a business at industry events
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Based in California and open to travel
