Description:

Provide inspirational, action-oriented Physician leadership to a Quality Care Assurance Team (QCAT), translating direction from the Board Quality and Patient Safety Committee (BQPSC) into hospital quality initiatives.

The role focuses on improving quality, safety, efficiency, timeliness, patient-centeredness, and equity in hospital operations. Responsibilities include engaging providers, caregivers, patients, and families in achieving strategic quality goals, promoting adoption of best practices, reducing variation, and meeting national benchmarks.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct activities of the QCAT and chair its committee; represent QCAT at Quality Pillar meetings.

  • Collaborate with CMQO, VP-Quality, VP-CMIO, CTO, senior leadership, clinical chairs, nursing, pharmacy, and administration to implement quality programs.

  • Lead Physician Daily Quality Report (PDQR) on a rotational basis.

  • Translate BQPSC and QP priorities into actionable plans and projects.

  • Engage front-line providers, caregivers, patients, and families to achieve quality goals.

  • Promote adoption of standardized best practices and reduction of unnecessary variation.

  • Develop SMART goals and measures of success with QCAT and clinical staff.

  • Report performance and promote accountability for achieving quality metrics.

  • Collaborate with IT and data analysts to create actionable dashboards and use predictive analytics for high-priority areas.

  • Promote a culture of safety, high reliability, and patient & caregiver engagement.


Qualifications:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university.

  • Board certification or equivalence in a specialty/subspecialty focused on respiratory or adult critical care.

  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience.

  • Prior experience as a Medical Director of Adult Critical Care.

  • Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Respected by medical staff, nursing, administration, and healthcare team members.
