Description:
SpaceX is actively developing technologies to make space exploration a reality, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. The Starship Heat Shield Scheduler will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and optimizing the production and execution of heat shield tile manufacturing for the world’s most powerful reusable launch vehicle.
This role requires strong scheduling, planning, and data analytics skills, working across engineering, production, and logistics teams to drive efficiency and adherence to manufacturing timelines.
✅ Develop production and execution plans for Starship Heat Shield Tile manufacturing.
✅ Collaborate across departments to align production plans with MRP dates.
✅ Utilize ERP tools to ensure accurate scheduling and resource allocation.
✅ Prepare daily work schedules, track progress, and update project critical path schedules.
✅ Identify bottlenecks and support operations in improving plan adherence.
✅ Align engineering and development plans for testing and new technology integration.
✅ Support internal logistics for smooth workflow and reduced lead times.
✅ Identify and eliminate blockers to ensure on-time delivery of products.
✅ Lead root-cause analysis and develop solutions for continuous improvement.
✅ Implement lean manufacturing principles, visual management, and process streamlining.
✅ Provide daily, weekly, and monthly visibility on schedule performance.
✅ Use SQL and Excel to create and analyze schedule risk and performance metrics.
✅ Conduct weekly production planning reviews with engineering and operations teams.
✔️ High school diploma or equivalent certification.
✔️ 2+ years of manufacturing scheduling experience.
✔️ Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field.
✔️ Strong understanding of manufacturing systems and production control.
✔️ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions.
✔️ Experience with SQL queries, Power BI, Tableau, and dashboard creation.
✔️ Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and process optimization.
✔️ Data analytics and problem-solving skills.
✔️ Experience conducting root-cause analysis to drive efficiency improvements.
🚀 Travel up to 25% may be required.
⏳ Ability to work extended hours/weekends to meet major project milestones.
🔍 Ability to pass an Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral access.
