General Description of Responsibilities: The Science Tutor positions is a part-time role which supports online/hybrid schools, prioritizing high school biology content. The incumbent will be responsible for responsible for engaging and supporting biology students, ensuring academic proficiency and meeting state-based grade level standards both online and in-person. The incumbent will be further responsible for creating rapport with students and District 51 staff, while adhering to EUREKA! policies and guidelines.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Support students and educators for 9th grade biology and general sciences.
• Set appointments with students for tutoring sessions.
• Communicate with District 51 and EUREKA! staff about educational outcomes.
• Entry level data tracking based on student outcomes.
• Attend EUREKA! trainings.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in education or degree in science.
• 1-2 years of classroom experience.
• Ability to build rapport with students, create engaging methods of curriculum delivery.
• Attend classes in person and online to connect with students and observe teaching of curriculum and language use.
• Accurate documentation of student outcomes, communicating outcomes with District 51 and EUREKA! Administration.
• Schedule tutoring appointments with students.
• Ability to pass FBI and CBI background checks, pass District 51 background check.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination record.
