Security Guard

Description:

Planned Companies, through its Planned Security Services (PSS) division, is seeking a professional and reliable Security Guard to join its team in Bloomfield, NJ. This role is essential for maintaining the safety, security, and peace of mind of residential and commercial property tenants, guests, and vendors. Security Guards will serve as a reassuring presence, deter potential risks, and respond effectively to any security-related challenges.

Schedule: Friday – Tuesday, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM (Must hold a valid NJ Driver’s License).

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular security and safety patrols of properties and structures to establish a secure presence.

• Verify and monitor access credentials for residents, guests, vendors, and deliveries.

• Ensure all property exits, doors, and windows are secured and properly functioning.

• Operate and monitor CCTV surveillance systems to detect suspicious activity or unlawful acts.

• Respond promptly to alarms, notifications, and incidents, investigating and reporting findings.

• Provide security-related assistance and support to residents, visitors, and vendors.

• Identify and report unlawful acts, suspicious items, or unauthorized individuals to authorities.

• Maintain accurate daily logs, surveillance records, and detailed incident reports for management.

Requirements:

• Valid New Jersey Security Officer Registration Act (SORA) license.

• Clean, valid NJ Driver’s License (mandatory).

• Minimum 2+ years of prior experience in a Security Guard or Officer role.

• Strong knowledge of state, local, and regional security regulations and public safety protocols.

• Skilled in surveillance and observation, with experience handling CCTV systems.

• Trained in First Aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), and self-defense practices.

• Strong verbal communication and professional report-writing abilities.

• High school diploma required.
