Turn2Partners, a specialized finance and accounting recruitment firm, is partnering with a high-growth, publicly traded pharmaceutical company headquartered in Washington, DC, to hire a dynamic Senior Accountant / Financial Analyst. This full-time position combines the technical rigor of financial accounting with the strategic insight of financial analysis. The selected candidate will work closely with the CFO and other department leaders, supporting core financial functions including monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, SEC filings, and internal controls.
Monthly Close Operations: Lead month-end close processes for corporate cost centers such as legal, sales, finance, and others, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with department leaders to develop quarterly budgets and financial forecasts, providing critical input for strategic decision-making.
Financial Reporting: Present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results to the CFO, ensuring leadership has clear insights into financial performance.
Financial Planning & Analysis: Provide in-depth financial analysis and business planning support across various departments to drive operational efficiency and cost management.
Compliance & Filings: Assist with the preparation and support of SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) and ensure adherence to SOX 404 internal control requirements.
Contract & Procurement Support: Participate in reviewing vendor contracts and procurement negotiations to optimize financial outcomes.
Technical Research: Conduct technical accounting research as needed and support ad-hoc financial projects across the organization.
Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – Mandatory
Background: At least 1+ year of experience at the Senior Associate level in a Big 4 public accounting firm
Experience: Minimum of 3 years total in finance or accounting
Knowledge Base: Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting standards, and SOX 404 compliance
Technical Tools: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
Personality Fit: Ambitious, highly analytical, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
Bonus Skill: Prior exposure to life sciences or pharmaceutical finance is helpful but not essential
