Senior Associate

Description:

Generis Tek Inc is seeking a Senior Associate, Toxicology for a contract role in Racine, WI. This position provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to environmental toxicology risk assessment projects for a client in the life sciences and consumer goods industry. The role requires hands-on experience with toxicity study protocols, environmental hazard assessment, and regulatory compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct environmental toxicology risk assessments using in vitro, in silico, and traditional toxicology data.

• Interpret toxicity study protocols and effectively communicate technical findings to diverse stakeholders.

• Evaluate mixtures and assess environmental risks under US EPA, GHS, CLP, SCCS frameworks.

• Locate, evaluate, and distill hazard and exposure information from authoritative databases (ECHA, EPA, FDA) and peer-reviewed literature.

• Apply knowledge of ecotoxicology and environmental fate/biodegradability tests to inform risk assessment and regulatory classification.

• Utilize MS Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and presentation.

• Use in silico tools such as OECD QSAR Toolbox and US EPA Comp Tox Dashboard.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Toxicology or a highly related field.

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in environmental toxicology risk assessment.

• Strong understanding of hazard and risk frameworks globally.

• Familiarity with regulatory assessment of mixtures and ecotoxicology endpoints.

• Excellent communication skills to convey complex scientific concepts to various audiences.

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience in consumer goods product safety and environmental risk assessment.

• Knowledge of OECD and OPPTS study guidelines.

• Understanding and application of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) such as in vitro alternatives, in silico modeling, and strategies to reduce animal testing.

• Experience with endocrine disruptor assessment.

• Proficiency with PLM (Product Life Cycle Management) software.
