Description:

Earnest, a financial services company committed to making higher education more affordable and accessible, is hiring a Senior Brand Copywriter based in the San Francisco Bay Area. This on-site position requires a passionate and strategic creative with a strong background in brand storytelling, marketing communication, and cross-channel content creation.

As a Senior Brand Copywriter, you will help shape and evolve Earnest’s brand voice, drive creative ideation, and collaborate across teams to deliver performance-driven, compelling, and brand-aligned content across multiple touchpoints.

You’ll partner with Product, Design, Lifecycle Marketing, and Web teams to engage consumers with clear and emotionally resonant messaging that supports the company’s financial solutions—from student loans to refinancing and scholarships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of marketing copy across lifecycle, performance, and web channels

  • Shape and evolve the brand voice based on research and performance insights

  • Contribute to strategic brand-building initiatives

  • Collaborate with Product Marketing to align business goals with creative storytelling

  • Create compelling content for digital ads, web pages, emails, offline media, and product interfaces

  • Lead A/B testing and performance analysis for copy effectiveness

  • Ensure consistency of messaging and tone across all consumer touchpoints

  • Partner with designers to create integrated marketing assets


Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of B2C copywriting experience in an agency or in-house environment

  • Portfolio that showcases diverse content across digital, advertising, product, and email formats

  • Prior experience in consumer financial services is a plus

  • Strong understanding of SEO, digital marketing funnels, and user-centric content

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams on creative development

  • Excellent written communication skills, with a knack for simplifying complex topics

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Willingness to travel to the Oakland office 3 days per month for team collaboration


Work Environment:
This position is hybrid. While the role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, the company encourages face-to-face collaboration by asking employees to work in the Oakland office for three consecutive days each month.
