Description:
The role requires a highly experienced Civil or Structural Engineer specializing in bridges, particularly suspension bridges and long-span structures. The engineer will be responsible for advanced nonlinear analysis, including development of detailed 3D finite element models based on existing design drawings. The candidate will perform influence line analyses and write custom program code to determine global live load patterns causing maximum structural responses.
The engineer will conduct load rating assessments on various bridge types following AASHTO LRFD, AASHTO MBE, and related manuals. Structural design tasks for reinforced concrete (RC) components such as culverts, substructures, bridge footings, and retaining walls are required, ensuring compliance with AASHTO and ACI standards.
Additional responsibilities include cost estimation for railway bridge projects, stability examinations of corroded bridge piers, and overall structural stability analysis. The role demands deep expertise in structural design, analysis, and load rating to support long-span bridge safety and performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Bridge and Tunnel Engineering
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in bridge engineering and structural analysis
Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD, AASHTO MBE, ACI codes, and bridge load rating manuals
Experience with nonlinear and influence line analysis, finite element modeling, and structural stability assessments
Ability to write program code for structural load pattern analysis is required
