Join Red Hat’s Hybrid Cloud Management team as a Senior Cloud FinOps Engineer, applying your cloud engineering expertise to optimize and automate cloud cost management. You will collaborate with architects and technical leads to design and deploy cost-efficient solutions for Red Hat OpenShift on AWS (ROSA) and Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO), leveraging AI and automation to predict and reduce cloud expenses.
Design and implement cloud tagging, cost allocation, and policy enforcement for cloud spending visibility and accountability.
Partner with architects and technical leads to optimize cloud cost architectures.
Analyze ROSA, ARO, and other cloud architectures to identify overspending and inefficiencies.
Develop automated cloud cost reporting solutions using AI and machine learning.
Integrate cloud cost management tools with internal systems for streamlined data flow.
Continuously optimize cloud infrastructure to reduce costs while maintaining performance.
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop cost-efficient reference cloud architectures.
Define and enforce FinOps best practices including reserved instances, savings plans, auto-scaling, rightsizing, and compute architecture selections.
Stay current on emerging cloud technologies and refine cost management processes.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field required.
Advanced experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or cloud-native technologies.
Extensive experience delivering hosted cloud services and managing cloud financial operations.
Familiarity with Graviton-based instances and Karpenter for Kubernetes.
Experience in Golang or Python application development.
Proven ability to implement architecture-level cost optimizations.
Deep understanding of Kubernetes cost models.
Proficiency with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Strong analytical skills with actionable insight delivery from cloud data.
Expertise in platform engineering tools (DevOps, CI/CD, automation, monitoring).
Solid knowledge of cloud billing models and pricing structures.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Detail-oriented, proactive in cost-saving and cloud efficiency.
Self-motivated leader in cloud financial operations.
Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., FinOps Certified Practitioner).
Skilled in cloud cost management tools like CloudHealth, Cloudability, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management.
Experience with ARO and ROSA architectures.
Experience with AI tools for predictive analytics and anomaly detection.
1+ years within Hybrid Cloud Management organization.
Salary range: $116,270 - $191,840 annually (based on qualifications, location, and experience).
