Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Support Engineer to join our team in Irvine, CA. This role requires on-site presence, and we strongly prefer candidates local to the Irvine area. If you meet the qualifications and are ready for an exciting opportunity.
AWS Solutions Architect certification (required)
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification (required)
Recent hands-on experience with AWS projects
Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform
Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Nagios, Prometheus, AWS CloudWatch, or Splunk
Over 10 years of technical support experience in complex enterprise IT environments
Demonstrated expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure, networking, security, IAM policies, and cost optimization
Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps methodologies, and infrastructure automation tools like Terraform and CloudFormation
ITIL Foundation certification is preferred
Experience working with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow is a plus
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across diverse teams
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to AWS infrastructure, networking, and cloud applications within SLA targets
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement sustainable fixes to prevent recurring incidents
Monitor system health and performance using Datadog, Prometheus, AWS CloudWatch, and Splunk, taking proactive actions on alerts
Automate operational workflows and incident responses through scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
Optimize AWS resource usage, configurations, and costs while maintaining high availability and security standards
Collaborate closely with DevOps and engineering teams to improve CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes
Maintain detailed operational documentation, including runbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base articles
Mentor junior engineers and advocate for continuous improvement by adopting Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices
