Senior Devops Engineer

 

Description:

Provation, a leading provider of healthcare software and SaaS solutions designed to enhance clinical productivity, care coordination, and billing efficiency, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with extensive experience in Microsoft Azure. This role is vital to ensuring smooth infrastructure operations, automation, and the continuous integration and deployment of software solutions that serve healthcare clients worldwide.

The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation workflows. This position requires advanced skills in Azure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and scripting, as well as deep experience with containerization and monitoring systems.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Azure Infrastructure Management

  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable, fault-tolerant Azure cloud infrastructure.

  • Automate provisioning and configuration using Terraform or ARM templates.

  • Monitor and optimize system performance and cost efficiency using Azure Monitor, Splunk, or Datadog.

  • Manage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters, ensuring robust orchestration, security, and scalability.

  • Integrate DevOps tools such as GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, and HashiCorp Vault.

  • Manage databases, backups, and data restoration procedures to maintain data integrity.

  • Implement message queuing systems like RabbitMQ to support microservice communication.

2. CI/CD Pipeline Development

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.

  • Automate testing, builds, and deployments with zero downtime strategies.

  • Streamline deployment workflows to improve development and delivery speed.

3. Automation and Scripting

  • Develop automation scripts in PowerShell, Python, or Bash for routine operations.

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, system updates, and application deployments.

  • Implement proactive monitoring and alerting automation for operational reliability.

4. Security and Compliance

  • Enforce best practices for security, identity management, and network protection.

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare and data protection standards such as HIPAA, SOC 2, and GDPR.

  • Perform regular audits and vulnerability assessments to maintain compliance.

5. Monitoring and Troubleshooting

  • Set up advanced monitoring systems using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.

  • Analyze performance metrics and logs to detect and resolve system issues.

  • Maintain high service availability and rapid incident resolution.

6. Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams—developers, QA, and operations—for seamless deployments.

  • Participate in agile ceremonies to ensure alignment with business objectives.

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of DevOps practices.

  • Stay updated with evolving Azure technologies and DevOps trends.

7. Disaster Recovery and Backup

  • Design and maintain disaster recovery plans and automated backup strategies.

  • Regularly test data recovery processes to ensure system resilience.


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.


Technical Skills and Expertise:

  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure services (VMs, AKS, Functions, DevOps, AAD).

  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates, Azure CLI).

  • Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

  • Strong understanding of networking, containerization (Docker, Podman), and monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus).

  • Familiarity with database services like Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, and PostgreSQL.

  • Experience in implementing DevOps best practices in Agile/Scrum environments.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.

  • Experience with AWS or Google Cloud Platform.

  • Hands-on knowledge of security and compliance frameworks in healthcare IT.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment.
