Description:
Capital One is seeking a Sr. Director, Chief of Staff to support its Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) division within the Enterprise Technology organization. This pivotal leadership role will directly partner with the SVP of CORE and its Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to manage strategic priorities and lead transformational initiatives across the organization.
As a Chief of Staff, you will drive operational excellence, steer complex cross-functional initiatives, support talent development, and elevate organizational culture. This position blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution, ensuring business priorities are advanced in alignment with CORE’s long-term vision.
This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives in dynamic environments, possesses a strong command of business-technology integration, and excels at navigating high-stakes communications, stakeholder management, and cross-team collaboration.
Executive & Organizational Support:
Lead initiatives to enhance team culture, effectiveness, and engagement. Partner with HR on talent strategies and ensure alignment across leadership.
Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with product, engineering, and business leaders to build a cohesive vision and drive integrated results across multiple functional areas.
Strategic Communications:
Partner with communications teams to reinforce the CORE brand internally and externally, facilitating updates and strategy sharing across stakeholders.
Event & Engagement Planning:
Oversee planning and execution of leadership offsites, All-Hands events, SLT meetings, and other engagement forums in coordination with associate experience teams.
Operational Excellence & Project Execution:
Lead the planning, development, and implementation of horizontal priorities and strategic initiatives. Manage performance metrics and dashboards.
Planning & Prioritization:
Drive planning cycles, monitor delivery roadmaps, and ensure prioritization aligns with strategic business needs.
Strong leadership, judgment, and emotional intelligence
Expertise in organizational design, strategic planning, and operational execution
Skilled in stakeholder engagement, cross-functional alignment, and executive communication
Technologically fluent and adept in Product-Technology-Business collaboration
Confident decision-maker with an inclusive and empowering leadership style
Proficient in managing complex projects and ambiguous challenges
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Adept in KPIs, dashboards, and performance tracking
Bachelor’s degree
9+ years of project, program, or process management experience
5+ years in a Chief of Staff or similar strategic leadership role
3+ years managing executive-level stakeholders
Master’s degree
10+ years in project/process management
6+ years in strategic planning and organizational change
3+ years working with engineering and product teams
2+ years in organizational design and budget strategy
Annual Salary (New York, NY): $288400 – $329100
Monthly Equivalent: Approximately $24033 – $27425
