CMTA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in MEP design, energy-efficient systems, and complex infrastructure projects to join its Dallas, TX office.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in leading electrical system designs, managing project execution, and providing technical leadership to design teams. This position involves full-cycle project involvement—from concept through construction—while ensuring the highest standards of efficiency, sustainability, and performance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power systems, UPS, renewable energy systems, fire alarms, and low-voltage systems (IT, safety, and security).

  • Oversee all project phases — from conceptual planning to detailed design, bidding, and construction support.

  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, and consultants, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.

  • Attend and lead project meetings with clients, architects, and internal design teams.

  • Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers and design staff on energy-efficient design principles.

  • Review and approve engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contractor submittals for compliance with project standards.

  • Apply advanced engineering knowledge to solve complex design and implementation challenges.

  • Research new technologies, evaluate sustainable design practices, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Contribute to project management and business development activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations.

  • Participate in quality control processes and ensure projects meet all safety and performance standards.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas (required).

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical consulting engineering, with proven expertise in MEP design and specifications.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit software for design and documentation.

  • Experience working across multiple sectors including Healthcare, Higher Education, K–12, and Commercial projects.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to lead design teams and coordinate with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
