We are looking for an experienced Senior Equity Accountant to join our finance team in New York, NY. This pivotal role will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of equity operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and collaboration across teams. The ideal candidate will have a CPA license, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equity Compensation Plans Management: Administer and manage the company’s stock options, RSUs, ESPPs, and other equity-related transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Cap Table Maintenance: Maintain accurate equity records, including grants, exercises, and ESPP contributions.

  • Collaboration Across Teams: Work with Legal, HR, Payroll, and external vendors to implement equity plans for new entities while ensuring local compliance.

  • SEC Filings & Disclosures: Oversee SEC filings such as Form 4, and equity-related disclosures in financial statements.

  • Tax Compliance & Reporting: Ensure accurate calculation, withholding, and reporting of equity-related taxes, including collaborating with global payroll teams for complex tax calculations for relocated employees.

  • Financial Analysis & Reporting: Generate internal and external reports, analyzing trends and variances.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to SEC regulations, IRS tax rules, and other regulatory requirements related to equity compensation.

  • Financial Record Reconciliation: Reconcile general ledger accounts and monitor expenses related to equity and partner-fee arrangements.

  • Period-End Closings & Reporting: Support period-end closing processes, ensuring accurate recording of equity-related entries in the ERP system.

  • SOX Compliance & Audits: Document and perform SOX compliance controls and internal audits to ensure adherence to policies and regulatory standards.

  • Tax Support: Support the tax team with calculations related to equity, including Deferred Tax Assets (DTA).

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA required.

  • 2-4 years of experience in equity administration or a related finance role.

  • Expertise in equity management software and ERP systems, with advanced Excel skills.

  • Familiar with regulatory standards and accounting principles related to equity.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work with multiple teams.

  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to new tools and processes quickly.
