Description:
The Senior Field Engineer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania will provide direction and assistance to the work group to meet assigned objectives. Responsibility includes performing installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on electrical distribution equipment and associated controls.

Your responsibilities
- Communication with internal and external customers via phone/text/email to schedule upcoming jobs and order required materials
- Perform safety analysis and paperwork prior to starting work activities
- Arrive at site physically and mentally prepared to work in various environments up to 16 hours/day as need-ed (unusual but may be necessary at times)
- Ability to work indoors/outdoors year around in all climates
- Ability to access remote work sites that may require walking long distances, climbing stairs, etc
- Ability to travel as required
- Transport, operate and setup test equipment required for work, 10-50 lbs
- Be responsible for hands on execution of projects including startup, commissioning, trouble-shooting, engineering, design and repair of power delivery equipment
- Power Delivery equipment includes transformers, switchgear, OCB’s, MV and LV circuit breakers, busways, UPS units, ATS units, PLC’s, relays, and other power related equipment
- This work will require handling/moving of circuit breakers and other installed equipment in excess of several hundred pounds
Your background
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 additional years of related engineering / field experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of field engineering experience
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
