Senior Forklift Operator

Description:

Cengage Group, a global leader in educational technology and learning solutions, is seeking a Senior Forklift Operator to join its Inventory Control Department in Independence, KY. The role is instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and quality of orders dispatched to customers, contributing to the seamless flow of warehouse operations that support millions of learners worldwide.

As a Sr Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for moving residual products between locations, packing T-boxes, managing inventory moves, and overseeing product destruction activities. You will play a key role in maintaining optimal warehouse efficiency while ensuring that safety standards are upheld at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload inventory.

• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner.

• Pack and organize T-boxes and manage inventory transfers or product disposals.

• Conduct cycle counts and ensure accurate documentation of inventory movement.

• Safely and consistently lift up to 50 lbs and remain active (standing/walking) for 8–10 hours daily.

• Collaborate with team members to maintain workflow efficiency and meet operational targets.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Strong attention to detail and proficiency in matching numeric and alpha codes.

• Safety-oriented mindset with a solid understanding of warehouse best practices.

• Basic math proficiency for inventory and quantity management.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience using Logpro and RF (Radio Frequency) scanners.

• Basic computer literacy for data entry and inventory tracking.

• Previous experience in warehouse or logistics environments.
