Adecco is offering an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Systems Engineer and Architect to join an established enterprise based in Southeast Michigan. This senior, hands-on role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a hybrid environment and is eager to both maintain current operations and lead modernization initiatives across the IT infrastructure stack.

The position demands a professional who can ensure the continuous health of hybrid systems while also driving innovation in automation, reliability, and performance. You will have the opportunity to design and implement forward-looking infrastructure solutions, ensuring optimal efficiency and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and maintain a hybrid infrastructure that spans Windows and Linux servers, VMware-based virtualization, enterprise storage, and networking systems.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues, determine root causes, and implement long-term corrective actions.

• Design and execute system improvements to enhance performance, security, reliability, and cost efficiency.

• Manage and support cloud workloads in AWS or Azure, ensuring seamless integration with on-premises systems.

• Automate routine administrative tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) platforms.

• Collaborate with application, operations, and security teams to align infrastructure initiatives with organizational goals.

• Lead and participate in upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure refresh projects, maintaining comprehensive documentation and adherence to change control procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive enterprise-level experience managing Windows Server and Linux systems.

• Strong background in VMware vSphere and associated virtualization tools.

• Deep understanding of enterprise storage, backup solutions, and disaster recovery practices.

• Solid grasp of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls, and cloud networking.

• Proven experience in automation scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.

• Ability to balance day-to-day operational responsibilities with project-based initiatives in a global enterprise environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in large, multi-site environments.

• Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms for proactive system management.
