Senior It Generalist

Description:

Akkodis is seeking a highly skilled and independent Senior IT Generalist for a long-term W2 contract role located onsite in San Jose, CA. This opportunity offers paid time off and holidays, with a competitive hourly rate. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and technically proficient IT professional with a strong foundation in asset and data management, troubleshooting, and IT infrastructure support.

This role supports local IT operations within the office, handling daily tasks involving asset lifecycle, issue resolution, and the facilitation of data upload processes used by engineering teams. A key component of the role involves interfacing between local ADAS teams and corporate IT functions to enhance operational efficiency and technical reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Issue Troubleshooting & Process Improvement (40%)
  Lead the resolution of IT-related issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Identify bottlenecks in processes and proactively deliver effective solutions. Act as a key liaison between ADAS Hub operations and corporate IT teams to streamline service delivery and system stability.

• IT Asset Management (30%)
  Maintain comprehensive documentation and records of all IT assets, manage workplace technical setups, and prepare monthly asset utilization and forecast reports. Collaborate with corporate IT to ensure seamless inventory tracking and deployment.

• Data Management & Cloud Upload Support (30%)
  Develop and execute structured data upload plans for engineers. Monitor cloud upload activities to ensure accuracy and success, providing support and guidance when issues arise.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or a related discipline—or equivalent work experience

• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and solve problems independently

• Strong technical expertise in operating systems, hardware, networking (TCP/IP), and enterprise-grade IT systems

• Familiarity with IT security standards and corporate IT compliance practices

• Experience in supporting engineering teams and DevOps, particularly with container deployment and maintenance

• Skilled in documenting technical problems and solutions clearly and effectively

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Atlassian Confluence

• Experience planning and managing data uploads, including cloud monitoring
